Freedom Is Joy!

“There’s no law that says your socks have to match your clothes…or each other!” One of the greatest pieces of advice I’ve gained from my mother. She’s a very eccentric person…she likes what she likes, never takes herself too seriously and really doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of her. That’s so inspiring! As women we spend so much time and energy focusing on what’s “on trend” this season or what everyone else is wearing so we can fit in. It’s exhausting! Where is it written that you can’t wear something because the fashion police will take you to jail? Nowhere, that’s where.

I design my jewelry not to be “on trend” or to make you look just like the next person. We should all be aspiring to express our own individuality in all that we do and wear. We’re all created to be different, not clones. So never be afraid to wear the mismatched socks or the green earrings with a yellow outfit. If you love how you look you’ll feel amazing and isn’t that what life’s all about?

I find that I’m becoming more and more like my mother as I get older. Why take myself so seriously? I can laugh at myself when I do something stupid. I wear mismatched earrings and I love loud, bright colors. There’s always music in my head so I’m always dancing. Just like her, I’m learning to love who I am no matter what. That’s JOY!
