Sharing Holiday Joy

Four whole days until Christmas Day! How exciting! This is truly the most wonderful time of the year. I don’t say that because of the prospect of getting “things” for Christmas, although that is what we have come to associate with this holiday. I say it because during the month of December we see more joy and goodness towards our fellow man. People seem to be nicer, in general, and much more giving. Also, I absolutely LOVE to see all the lights and decorations that people have around their homes. We even have a tiny Christmas tree and beautiful decorations in the break room at my job. These things bring smiles to my face every day.

However, I do understand that for many people, the holiday season brings sadness and/ or depression. The gaiety may be a stark reminder that someone you love is no longer here to share it with you, or perhaps you are unable to be with your family or loved ones for whatever reason – travel is too expensive, illness, employment obligations, etc. Whatever you are going through, I understand and you are not alone. It is my sincere prayer that you are comforted and feel loved.

As we go about our last minute shopping for gifts, let us give a little to those who are less fortunate. As we make preparations for our special meals, let us be reminded that someone is going hungry. Let’s create new traditions that involve unconditional love and caring for people from all walks of life. You’ll find that bringing joy to another person will bring you everlasting joy in return.

Merry Christmas, my friends! I’m wishing you love, joy and peace during this season and a very happy and prosperous New Year! May 2022 bring you all the JOY your heart can handle, and then even more!
