Walking in Your Purpose

Yesterday, I attended a virtual funeral service for the man who was my mentor. He was an educator who touched many, many lives during his lifetime. He started out teaching speech and theatre at a school in Houston where the community was poor, underserved and forgotten. Then he moved on to teach in the Theatre Department at Prairie View A&M University. He made so many students feel like they mattered and deserved to live a prosperous and successful life! Listening to the loving tributes, it is clear that one man walking in his purpose can affect many lives, including mine, just by doing what he loved.

The irony here is that even through his funeral service, I’m still learning life lessons. It is so very important to know that each one of us is here for a purpose. We are all masters at different things and that is what creates the beautiful tapestry of the circle of life! If you look, you’ll see that we all contribute a piece to the puzzle and together the picture is magnificent!
